On this episode, we take a short pause from interviewing other doctors, so that I can share two of my own patient stories with you. The first is a cancer patient that presents in excruciating pain. The second is a 76 y.o. farmer who had a spine fusion and was having difficulty walking.
On this episode we hear from PGA great Butch Baird and retired NFL player Dontay Mock as they share their experiences of being treated by spine specialist, Dr. Leisa-Marie Grgula.
Dr. Grgula holds a Bachelor degree in Human Biology. She received her Doctorate Degree from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. She is certified in Cox® Technic Flexion Distraction Manipulation. Dr. Grgula studied Acupuncture with Dr. Chih-Wei Rei, Chinese Orthopedic Surgeon, and Chiropractic Physician.
She is originally from Massachusetts, and practiced in Chicago for one year, after graduating from National. She has been living and practicing in Sedona since 1996, and now in North Phoenix since 2007. Since the sale of her Sedona practice, she now practices solely in North Phoenix, AZ.
We hear from both Dr. Keith Bartley and his patient Mitch on this episode about avoiding back surgery.
Dr. Bartley graduated from Indiana University with an Athletic Training and Sports Medicine degree and after interning with the New England Patriots entered Logan University. He has been practicing in Jasper, IN since 1990 and is certified in Cox Technic of the Cervical and Lumbar spines, and has Full Body, Biomechanics and Long Nerve Entrapment certifications in Active Release Technique (ART). Our spine specialist on this episode is Dr. Benjamin Glass. Dr. Glass shares two severe neck pain cases that have herniated discs.
Dr. Glass is unique to his profession. He carries the unfamiliar title of DACBR after his name, which means not only can he treat your spine needs: but as a Radiologist, he is able to analyze different images including X-rays and MRIs. This skill enables him to more accurately diagnosis his patients, resulting in overall better care.
He is one of only four Chiropractic/ Radiologist physicians throughout the entire state of Ohio who is certified to perform Cox® Technic Flexion Distraction Manipulation .
While there are nearly 60,000 Chiropractors nationally, only 1% of them have chosen to focus on studying and caring for the most difficult spine pain conditions with well-researched protocols like Dr. Glass.
On this episode Dr. Marc Baker from Nova Scotia Canada, is joined by his patient who shares a common low back pain story.
Dr. Marc Baker worked in a multidisciplinary private practice while also being a staff doctor at the Canadian Forces Base hospital in Halifax. After his tenure with the Canadian Forces, he opened the first Disc Clinic in Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada. In the spring of 2015 he opened a second Disc Clinic in Dartmouth Nova Scotia.
Given his strong belief and passion for the Cox® Technic, Dr. Baker became a hands-on instructor and has taught workshops for other doctors from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec, Canada.
