Dr. Chad Hackel
I have enjoyed providing chiropractic, acupuncture and nutritional care to Custer County, for the last 18 years at Backbone of Healthcare. I grew up on a farm near Ord Nebraska and then attended NE Community College and NE Christian College where I met my wonderful wife, Marci. Together we have four terrific children. In college I had an interest in natural healing and a desire to help others achieve good health. After much research it seemed like chiropractic would be a great fit. I graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City Missouri in 2001. From there I moved to Lincoln to work at Conard-Love Chiropractic for about a year. Dr Conard specialized in alternative treatments such as nutrition, acupuncture and chiropractic. He taught me a lot about running a business and the treatment of hard cases.
In January 2003, we opened Backbone of Healthcare in Broken Bow. Since moving here I have received post doctorate certificates in Acupuncture, Cox Technique (specialized treatment for herniated discs and arthritis) and most recently Sports Certification. I really enjoy helping people suffering from herniated discs and sports injuries and many other health conditions. Continuing my education in the latest chiropractic approaches to natural health and treatment is a priority. Also, this last year our office participated in a nationwide clinical study of failed back surgeries.
Any spare time is filled with watching my kids participate in music, 4-H and sporting events. I also enjoy volunteering my time at church and church camp. If I can squeeze in a good football game or help my parents on the farm, my weekend feels complete.

Spine specialist, Dr. Jeremy Heidt shares a story of a woman with severe sciatic who came to his office after going to the ER.
My name is Dr. Jeremy Heidt. It is a personal experience with chiropractic care for a back injury and sports treatment that I had my first experience with chiropractic care.
At the age of 14, I suffered from severe low back pain and migraine headaches. I had a spinal fusion surgery recommended for me at the age of 15. Through chiropractic care and giving my back time to heal I saw improvements in both my lower back and migraine headaches and was able to avoid a spinal surgery. This personal experience got me involved in chiropractic and I believe the personal and professional experience is what makes our clinic unique.
In the past 10 years of treating patients, I have learned that paying attention to the little things in treatment can have a huge impact. I have learned manual chiropractic adjustments, combined with soft tissue therapies, and rehab exercises as needed can truly make a difference in patient's lives, myself included.
Whether it's helping a patient walk with less pain, that ability to get on the floor to play with their grandkids, recovering from a sports injury, or avoiding a back surgery, these goals are what makes going to work each day enjoyable.
It is my goal to get the most efficient response possible for each patient. Whether it's using chiropractic adjustments to improve function and decrease pain, soft tissue therapies, flexion distraction/decompression, or rehab exercises/plans. I truly believe we have the tools available to make a difference with our patients and have them leaving our office better than when they came in.
I grew up in Dickinson, North Dakota. Graduated from college at the University of North Dakota and graduated from Chiropractic School at Northwestern Health Sciences in Bloomington, MN.
After spending 14 years in Minnesota and owning Midwest Chiropractic and Wellness in Eden Prairie, MN for 8.5 years Jenny and I made the decision to move back to North Dakota to be closer to our family and have our girls, Finley and Emery, closer to home.
I am certified in Cox Flexion Distraction/Decompression, (The only chiropractor in North Dakota with the certification and 5-10% of chiropractors being certified nationwide.) I am also certified in a technique called FAKTR that uses multiple soft tissue therapies (Cupping, Instrument Assisted Tools, Functional Rehab Exercises) to get patients better.
I enjoy treating a wide variety of issues from Acute and Chronic Neck and Back Pain, Disc Herniations, Scoliosis, Facet Syndromes and extremity issues such as shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle issues.

What if back-pain relief was just a few steps away? Esther Gokhale’s work with posture and movement finds that just changing the way you sit, stand, lie down, and walk can eliminate your back pain.
Esther grew up in India helping her mom treat orphaned babies and she studied biochemistry at college. Later, she became a licensed acupuncturist. So, when her own pain and herniated disc issues emerged, it motivated Esther to study how people move.
“There were some seeds already sown in my brain that ‘there's something going on with people who live close to the ground that makes sense and that works.’ And so, when this horrible thing happened to me, it resonated for me to study techniques that changed the way you use your body,” Esther says.
Esther developed and trademarked the Gokhale Method, an eight-step plan to adjust your back’s curvature and movement from an S or C-shaped curve to a J-shaped curve. Esther found this technique by studying the common thread between ancient cultures and today’s primal cultures:
“If you go to your museums and you look at the Greek statues, they're doing exactly what these Ubong guys are doing, they look the same. And so why would that be? Well, the simplest explanation is that it is natural. That's why they converge on the same form. And we in modern times have just lost our way.”

"My education didn’t end when I became a chiropractor. It just began. Every year, I attend seminars and advanced training courses to stay up on the latest improvements in chiropractic techniques. And what I learn, I am able to put to immediate use in helping you get rid of your pain.”
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Joseph D’Angiolillo returned to his hometown, North Brunswick, and established the D’Angiolillo Chiropractic Center in 1985. In 2010 he relocated his office to Somerset, NJ. Located on the border of North Brunswick and Somerset.
