Spine specialist, Dr. Kim Lombardy shares a story of a patient with hip and leg pain that still continues to have pain after her hip replacement.

About Dr. Lombardy

Dr. Kim Lombardy is a native of Sandusky, Ohio. After suffering from chronic pain and illness, stemming from a childhood accident, and being under medical care for 20 years, he was referred to a local Sandusky chiropractor, Dr. Vince Darr. After a series of spinal adjustments, Dr. Lombardy's pain began to recede, and his health was restored. He was so impressed that he changed his major from Pre-Veterinary Medicine to Pre-Chiropractic. After completing his undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University, he enrolled in Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC, where he graduated in 1980. Dr. Lombardy moved to Augusta, GA, and opened Woodland Chiropractic Life Center which later became Lombardy Chiropractic Clinic. He practiced for 29 years before being appointed Assistant Clinical Professor in the Orthopedic Department of the Medical College of Georgia, the first chiropractor to obtain that position in the history of MCG. After two years he returned to private practice. Dr. Lombardy served as Vice-President of the Georgia Chiropractic Association for three years. He has the highest level of training in Activator Methods (painless instrument adjusting) and Cox® Technic for disc problems.

A 56 year old runner experienced worsening back pain after a run.  Spine specialist, Dr. Shawn Nelson explains the cause of his pain and his road to recovery.

About Dr. Nelson

My journey to becoming a Chiropractor began with me as a patient in my early teens.  I was being treated for some debilitating migraine headaches that would take my vision from me.  The care I was receiving significantly reduced this.

I finished my education graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa March of 2002.  I have practiced in Michigan continuously since then.  My wife and I have 2 boys and a girl which keeps us very active.  I have been helping to coach my son’s wrestling club in the winters as well.

I have treated every type of patient possible from all 3 of my kids within 2 hours of their birth, to professional athletes, to motor vehicle injuries, to my oldest a fascinating 110 year old woman who was a burlesque dancer in Paris France in World War II.  Given my own experiences in athletics, with my own significant injuries, I have a wealth of experience in treating all aspects of the spine.  I also have a specialized technique for treatment of the shoulder.  I employ over 10 techniques for adjusting the spine, and work tirelessly to find the technique that is right for each patient.  I utilize a mechanically vitalistic view of the body.  It is a beautiful machine that can do amazing things functionally, but only if it’s structure (the spine) is in its optimum condition.

Prominent Nashville spine specialist, Dr. Casey Bearden shares a story of a Marine veteran suffering with lower back pain and leg pain who also had had two previous neck surgeries.

Dr. Bearden's Story

Several years ago I developed a severe low back condition known as a “bulged or herniated disc.” It progressed quickly and the pain I felt at certain times was so piercing that I couldn’t tie my own tennis shoes. I feared my future career and active family life would be at risk if the disability continued. I definitely considered my options, with surgery being the only one presented by the surgeon I saw. I decided against surgery. It just didn’t make sense to me to undergo back surgery without trying other treatments first.

A friend encouraged me to try some treatments from a chiropractor. I took his advice and went for my very first chiropractic examination. The doctor examined me, took some photos, and then “adjusted” my spine. I anticipated the adjustment would be painful, but it was not. It actually felt good in that it provided some relief. I was able to bend over and utilize my back once again. This experience triggered my interest in studying learning more about how chiropractors help with so many different injuries and chronic conditions. I soon enrolled in chiropractic school. That is how it all started… It is strange how life is. It is hard to believe that my herniated disc treatment resulted in me having the opportunity to help others with back pain, neck pain, headaches, carpel tunnel syndrome, migraine headaches, chronic pain, shoulder/arm pain, whiplash from car accidents, neuropathy and numbness in limbs, athletic injuries, just to name a few.

Spine specialist, Dr. Adam Propper enthusiastically shares two stories of phenomenal results using Cox® Technic for severe neck and arm pain.

Dr. Adam Propper

When I was 8 years old, I suffered a severe head and neck trauma. Shortly after came my migraine headaches. My doctors had no answers for my problem and I suffered many years with these debilitating headaches.

Fortunately, one of my college classmates invited me to her office and I became a chiropractic patient. She told me how my problem came from nerve pressure in my spine. I had no idea what chiropractic was, but her explanation made so much sense to me.  None of my doctors told me I could be helped.  Not only did my headaches get resolved, my overall health and immunity improved. Chiropractic worked! It saved my life and stopped my suffering. From that point on I was dedicated to becoming a chiropractor and helping others the way I was helped.

Today my practice is filled with people who come to us with all sorts of problems. My patients want to stop taking medications for pain; they want a clear concise diagnosis and treatment plan; they don't want to spend hours waiting or being treated in a doctor's office. And most of all, My patients want and get results!.

I love chiropractic and the simplicity of how chiropractic works. It can change a person's life.

I have personally trained with Dr. James Cox, D.C.DACBR, and some of the top chiropractors in the world. They taught me how to be a healer: First: It's about listening to people carefully. Second: It's about applying the Philosophy, Art, and Science of chiropractic correctly. That's our purpose. My staff and  I would be honored to have the opportunity to help you and your family.
